This leads to this odd camera movement that is hard to keep track of because it is locked to a room rather than panning over the entire map and this significantly slowed down my commands. You can pause the game with ‘+’ and issue commands but for the most part, I kept time rolling. You also can’t really select two or three characters to spread commands throughout the map due to the nature of selection with the shoulder buttons. Players select their characters with ‘R’ and ‘L’ or all of them by hitting both and then pick a room for them to move to.
This is a game that plays kind of like a real-time strategy game. For one, learning the game’s controls is like trying to run in waist-high mud. Even with my new player friendly pug and setting the game to very easy, I struggled to get past the 8th floor of the dungeon.
I immediately gravitated Ayairi Whairydd, a war pug that cannot equip items, making for one less facet to worry about.
There are plenty of characters to choose from with varying stats, skills, and weapon types with unique and fun designs. From here the party of prisoners crash lands on a strange planet and steadily explores a massive dungeon. Players pick a ship that has a few modifiers, a difficulty, and a set number of characters that can board it.

I would also assume that the PS4 port is similar to what I played on Switch but I’m unsure. That alone makes the Switch port ultimately inferior and I’m assuming that there are other features that are missing. I wasn’t even aware that there was co-op in Dungeon of the Endless and sadly that feature isn’t present in this port. I’ve never played the PC version of this title, but I do have a friend who spent a ton of time with it and he even praised its cooperative play.
